Board rules

Every post is reviewed and posted within 24 hours.

  1. Events and offerings in Humboldt County

Post things happening here, and services, lessons, jobs, volunteer calls and free help offered here. Online events from local groups are fine.

  2. No politics, no exceptions

No candidates, campaigns, ballot measures, petitions or political advocacy, from any side. Government business meetings (councils, supervisors, commissions) aren't listed either. Library and parks programs, and fire, flood and safety prep nights, are welcome.

  3. No selling things

No items for sale, free stuff, yard sales, housing or rentals. Markets, fairs and craft shows are events and are welcome. So are services, lessons and jobs.

  4. No drinking or getting-high events

Events built around drinking or getting high aren’t listed: beer and wine tastings, brew fests, 420 parties, cannabis cups, dispensary deals. These are fine: live music at a bar, and classes that teach something, like home brewing or a cannabis farm permit workshop.

  5. Be kind

No harassment, threats, hate, defamation or graphic content. No explicit content and nothing illegal.

  6. Be honest

Give the real time, place and price. Post only what you run or have permission to share.

  7. Post each event once

An event comes off the board after its date passes. If it happens every week or every month, choose "Does it repeat?" when you post, and every date shows up on its own. Dates all different? Add up to 10 to one post, or post again when the next one is set. Services, lessons and other offers stay up 60 days, and we send you a link to renew.

  8. No spam

No MLM, affiliate links or referral codes.

  9. Your real name

Use your first and last name. The board shows your first name and last initial, plus your group's name if you add one.
