How to ask us to take down a flyer.

  1. Is it your own flyer?

Open the post, tap Report this post and choose “This is my flyer (copyright).” Or email [email protected] with the link. We take it down within 2 days.

  2. Sending a formal notice

If a post uses your photo, artwork or other work without permission, email us a notice with:

    • The work you own, like the photo or artwork. If there is more than one, list them.
    • The link to each post on humboldt.community that uses it.
    • Your name, mailing address, phone number and email.
    • This sentence: “I have a good faith belief that this use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.”
    • This sentence: “The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act for the owner, of the right that is said to be infringed.”
    • Your signature. Typing your full name works.
  3. If your post came down

Think we took it down by mistake, or you have permission to use the work? Email us a counter-notice with:

    • The post that came down, and its link.
    • Your name, mailing address, phone number and email.
    • This sentence: “Under penalty of perjury, I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.”
    • A sentence saying you consent to the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any district where we can be found), and that you will accept service from the person who sent the notice.
    • Your signature. Typing your full name works.

We send it to the person who sent the notice. If they don’t tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have gone to court, we may put the post back.

  4. Repeat problems

There are no accounts here. If someone keeps posting other people’s work after we’ve taken it down, we block their email address from posting.

  5. Be accurate

Someone who knowingly sends a false notice or counter-notice can be held responsible for the harm it causes.
